Christmas crafting

Hey, there!!

I really am not so good at this blogging idea, but I wanted to pop over and share what I’ve been working on lately!

I’ve always wanted to make some kind of Christmas countdown calendar for my kids that we could use year after year.  After searching Pinterest for a while (ya’ll have some GREAT ideas!!), I found this!!  Aside from being a very talented seamstress and quilter, Cynthia  gave me the oomph that I needed to work my math and creative mind together to make a calendar for the kids.

Here is my expression of that piece:

You can see below that I didn’t tackle the bow tops (which were SO CUTE)…

…and instead of using the buttons on the tree, I substituted teeny tiny pompoms.  I did stitch them down to be sure they wouldn’t pull off as the kids hung their ornaments.

And instead of crafting the ornaments (which would have taken days, and I was already 4 days late in finishing!), I found these little resin ornaments by Darice for about $5 for 24 pieces!

I’ll post another photo around Christmas time to show off how it looks fully decorated, but I’m so happy with the way it turned out!

What are you working on these days?  Do you have any pieces that you’ve crafted over the years that your children look forward to pulling out of storage for special occasions?

Whatever you celebrate, do it with a full heart.  : )  Happy Holidays!

Interlock MADNESS!

Sticking to my plan, I’ve burned through some wool interlock that I’ve had my stash for some time.

So, all of the natural colored pants are made of 100% wool interlock and the one gray pair is made of a recycled lamb’s wool/angora blend sweater.  They were all made the same day and it didn’t feel right to leave the cousin out of the photo.  ; )

Which is your favorite?  What would you like to see more of?

Find me on Etsy!  : )

Oh, HEY!

There you are!!  Been looking all over for you!  : )

I know I’m not the only one in the world to neglect her blog, and I can’t be the only one in the world who feels badly for it…right?

I have been working on so many things, I’m having a difficult time wrapping things up!  I have so many UFO’s that I’m overwhelmed!!!  and I don’t like to be that way, soooo…

I’m committing to finish my UFO’s before I take on anything else.  *gulp*

Here are just a few things I’ve been working on:

On top of this, I have a spring sweater/bloomers set, legwarmers and the beautiful sweater for my sweet friend Shannon.

Hope you all are well and are able to get outside, if even for just a moment.  The fresh air does wonders for the brain!!
