I really am not so good at this blogging idea, but I wanted to pop over and share what I’ve been working on lately!
I’ve always wanted to make some kind of Christmas countdown calendar for my kids that we could use year after year. After searching Pinterest for a while (ya’ll have some GREAT ideas!!), I found this!! Aside from being a very talented seamstress and quilter, Cynthia gave me the oomph that I needed to work my math and creative mind together to make a calendar for the kids.
Here is my expression of that piece:
You can see below that I didn’t tackle the bow tops (which were SO CUTE)…
…and instead of using the buttons on the tree, I substituted teeny tiny pompoms. I did stitch them down to be sure they wouldn’t pull off as the kids hung their ornaments.
And instead of crafting the ornaments (which would have taken days, and I was already 4 days late in finishing!), I found these little resin ornaments by Darice for about $5 for 24 pieces!
I’ll post another photo around Christmas time to show off how it looks fully decorated, but I’m so happy with the way it turned out!
What are you working on these days? Do you have any pieces that you’ve crafted over the years that your children look forward to pulling out of storage for special occasions?
Whatever you celebrate, do it with a full heart. : ) Happy Holidays!
